What are Republicans going to do when America finally figures out they only care about one thing. Holding onto power by cashing in from helping out the wealthy, and large corporations that care nothing for the future of our nation. It’s a good thing for them the same corporations that profit from right wing propaganda also own almost all of the media. I can only imagine the day when regular Americans finally figure out Republicans care nothing for them at all, unless of course they are filthy rich.

In fact the Democrats have been in control of policy making, economic policy spending for four years now. This is not Bush’s recession. This is the result of Democrat economic policies.” Pssst Jim. That is one of the stupidest things I have ever heard. Tell me Jim. What “Democrat” policies were put in place that Bush wouldn’t veto? Zero. That’s right. There you go again. Blaming Obama for Bush. Just like they blamed Clinton for the fact that Bush, and his Republican friends practically destroyed our country.

When people go to the polls this fall, Republican candidates are counting on voters forgetting what happened the last time they put Republicans in control of the White House and Congress. From what I remember The Bush Administration with overwhelming Republican majorities in the House and the Senate turned a record surplus into an economic disaster. After taking office with a “growing surplus” as President Bush put it (which was projected to pay off the national debt is as little as 7 years) he and the Republicans ran up huge deficits by enacting tax cuts that mostly benefited the wealthy. They also started wars without paying for them, and gave corporate handouts as far as they eye could see. After inheriting a surplus, Bush left office with 7 trillion added to the national debt, and handed off a 1.7 trillion dollar deficit to the next president. Mission Accomplished! Now Republicans want you to forget these numbers and put them back in charge of congress. Sadly, all too many folks will pretend the disaster their policies caused didn’t happen. And to top it all off Republicans are hoping their supporters will give them credit for all the effort they have made to keep the policies that bankrupted our nation in place, and for blocking every attempt of the Democrats to turn our economy around, and create jobs. When Bush took office, the national debt was $5.73 trillion. When he left, it was $10.7 trillion, and the deficit he created would cripple anyone who took the job of cleaning up his mess. Since Bush inherited a surplus, and handed off a deficit, I am counting every penny added to the deficit under President Obama as caused by Bush. If Bush handed off a balanced budget, and President Obama ran up the national debt, then of course I would be blaming Barack. But that didn’t happen.
